Cayenne Wellness Center and Children's Foundation: Job Descriptions

Job description: This fellowship provides the opportunity for advanced clinical training in the area of child and adolescent psychology and family systems. Clinical and didactic training: Fellows conduct initial evaluations, on going treatment, and psychological testing. Fellows attend didactic training seminars which meet once a month, as well as weekly rounds in a multidisciplinary setting. In addition to a case conference, fellows attend seminars on a variety of topics including diagnosis and treatment, psychological testing, ethics, and licensure. Fellows will receive both individual and group supervision for a minimum of 3 hours each week. Stipends start at: $
Qualifications: Must have a doctorate in Clinical or Health Psychology from an APA accredited program; must have completed your internship from an APA accredited program.

Job description: The primary duties inherent in the position are:
- provide center based holistic psychotherapy and/or family psychotherapy and play therapy to children with developmental disabilities;
- provide developmental intervention and treatment to children with pervasive developmental disorders and their families in the home and within the center;
- conduct psychotherapy groups, social skills groups, parent support groups, and parenting education classes as needed;
- implement highly-individualized treatment and intervention goals and plans;
- implement child development and enrichment focused activities within the center and in the community;
- provide crisis intervention as needed;
- conduct initial and ongoing DSM-IV diagnostic evaluations, developmental assessments, social skills assessments, behavioral and personality assessments, and learning disorders assessments;
- develop and maintain relationships with existing community service agencies;
- participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, present case conferences, and collaborate with other center professionals to ensure patients have access to all services the center provides (as approved by the Senior Psychologist);
- if licensed, maintain current licensing status and complete related continuing education;
- maintain a weekly schedule (40 hours/week) to suit operational needs;
- maintain productivity rate or service expectations of the center as outlined in employment contract (addendum 1)
- complete and maintain computerized documentation of treatment services in a timely manner
- maintain accurate and timely patient charts and center files.
- (Note: billing goes out the first day of each month. All treatment notes and data entry for patient services must be completed on the last day of each month. For example, billing for February 2008 will be printed and mailed on March 3, 2008 - the first business of the month. Therefore, all treatment notes and billable sessions must be entered no later than February 29, 2008
Qualifications:
- Must have at least a Master's degree in Marriage in Family Therapy from an accredited college or university; must have a California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) license or be license eligible;
- experienced in diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of developmental disorders and other DSM-IV child psychiatric disorders;
- competent in DSM-IV diagnostic evaluation and treatment planning;
- minimum of two (2) years preferred outpatient clinical experience with persons with Pervasive Developmental Disorders (P.D.D.);
- competent in keyboarding and electronic record-keeping, use of e-mail, and other basic computer applications;
- excellent verbal and written skills;
- excellent group facilitation skills and experience;
- valid drivers license, good driving record, access to a personal vehicle and proof of vehicle insurance.
Supervision (Total = 10 hours)
- Participates in individual supervision with Senior Psychologist = 1 hour/week (4 hours/month)
- Group supervision with Senior Psychologist = 2 hours every other week (4 hours/month)

Continuing Professional Development (minimum of 12 hours)
- By being a member of a professional association, the intern must maintain, improve and broaden their knowledge and skills and develop the personal qualities required in their professional lives. The intern must be committed to keeping up to date and continuously seeking to improve.

Duties & Responsibilities:
a) Treatment and Multidisciplinary Team Rounds: Provides treatment services to individuals and their family members desiring individualized lifestyle changes, including: resource counseling, family and patient education, and community referrals. Opportunity to develop programs to strengthen mental health services to children and families; participation in multidisciplinary team rounds once a week; must present a case conference. (40%)
b) Community Programs: Develop and maintain relationships with existing community service agencies in all market areas (i.e., diabetes, sickle cell anemia, cancer support groups; lupus foundation, etc.); collaborate with existing community agencies to ensure clients have access to the services the wellness center provides (i.e., eleven week lifestyle seminars). (40%)
c) Seminars: To assist with the protocols and development of materials for the eleven week and six week seminar classes; participation is limited. (20%)
d) Administration & Management: maintain accurate records and files. (Ongoing)

Job description: The primary duties inherent in the position are:
a) to provide education on health and nutrition during scheduled seminars held at the wellness center throughout the year; (30%)
b) to develop effective, nutritional strategies and interventions utilizing the C-T-K program, the Healthy Diet Pyramid, and the 3,4,4 method targeted toward children, adolescents, and adults participating in the various seminars and those desiring to receive an individualized lifestyle program; (20%)
c) to participate in multidisciplinary team rounds once a week; present a case conference; (ongoing)
d) to develop and conduct research on dietary factors in relation to diseases such as cancer, diabetes, sickle cell anemia and other chronic illnesses and mental health diseases such as depression; (20%)
e) community involvement: to disseminate new knowledge about nutrition to public schools, community agencies, support groups, and other health professionals (20%)
f) supervision: The person will also be responsible for supervising one RN (10%).
Qualifications: M.D. and a Doctor of Public Health degree in nutrition with training and research in either nutritional epidemiology or public health nutrition.

Job description: The primary duties inherent in the position are:
I. Individualized care:
a) to perform initial evaluations and screening of patients desiring individualized lifestyle changes;
b) to obtain the medical records of patients, highlighting areas of concern;
c) to determine if patient hasn't had a physical exam within the past 12 months to encourage patient to do so prior to their first appointment for individualized care;
d) to assist the nutritionist in developing a program for each patient;
e) to perform weekly vitals and charting of progress which will encompass both eating healthy, increasing exercising and decreasing sedentary behaviors;
f) to remind (via telephone calls) patients of their scheduled appointments;
g) to coordinate all services with appropriate staff member (i.e., if patient is also required to participate in therapy services, making sure appointments are scheduled back to back for the convenience of the patient, ergo nutrition and therapy respectively;
II. Seminar participation:
h) to develop a health screening questionnaire for all participants;
i) to assist with curriculum design, development and evaluation / assessment protocols (which includes evaluation forms for beginning and end of seminar);
j) to complete the review of all questionnaires prior to seminar participation;
k) to obtain the medical records of patients, highlighting areas of concern;
l) take vitals of all participants for seminar and follow-ups each week;
m) to develop programs for each participant; encouraging them to seek additional services only if deemed necessary and to maximize their success;
n) if paid via insurance, get authorization; if not, collect money at beginning of eleven week program;
o) to contact all participants who completed seminar for all follow-ups (contact client one month and one week before each follow-up).

Namely, the office manager and human resources specialist is responsible for managing the front office as well as the human resources function at the Wellness Center ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations along with managing and maintaining all company initiatives, policies, and procedures.
Job description: The primary duties inherent in the position are:
I. Human resource:
a) responsible for supervising the receptionist, staff accountant, child care specialist and High Five! coordinator;
b) responsible for monitoring all company policies for compliance and equitable application;
c) work with supervisors (Sr. Psychologist and Nutritionist) to maintain compliance with company policy and advise regarding disciplinary action as necessary;
d) responsible for participating in the employee interview process to ensure all procedures are followed;
e) responsible for performing new hire orientations for all employees and reviewing all new hire paperwork;
f) review all terminations for proper documentation and compliance with labor laws and company policy;
g) responsible for developing, reviewing, and updating all employee handbook as well as creating and updating job descriptions for all employees;
h) responsible for administering all employee benefit plans including but not limited to enrolling all employees in the benefit plans and to assist employees with questions or problems;
i) responsible for researching and selecting employee benefits (i.e., medical and 401 K plan); responsible for researching and selecting malpractice insurance for the psychologists, social worker, MD and RN; j) responsible for researching and selecting workmen's compensation insurance, general liability insurance, professional liability insurance, etc.
II. Office manager:
k) to perform all payroll functions in the absence of the staff accountant;
l) to perform the medical billing along with the receptionist;
m) gather all the medical billing on a daily basis and prepare them for the staff accountant;

We practice the science of helping children and their families make changes in their lifestyle to improve their overall health and quality of life emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
Job description: The primary duties inherent in the position are:
a) to make sure the room is sanitized before and after children are cared for;
b) to stock the room with age appropriate materials;
c) to verify weekly with participants the number of children prior to each seminar date;
d) as a result of ( c), to coordinate the appropriate number of assistants to watch children;
e) to verify credentials of all the assistants, making sure that they have had the following PRIOR to working:
- TB test,
- First aid certificate,
- CPR certificate, and
- Baby sitting certificate received from either the YMCA or St. Joseph's
f) to provide new training / orientation for all new assistants that will only be offered three times a year (January, May and September); g) to provide a continuing education class for 'seasoned' baby sitters (they must participate yearly otherwise they will need to go through a new orientation class. These classes will be held three times a year: February, June, and October); h) as a result of (f), to research, develop, and write the training manual;
i) to make sure the wellness center maintains a ratio of 1:3 assistants for birth - 2 years and a ratio of 1:5 for developmental ages 3 - 6 years, and 7 - 12 years; j) for maintaining at least one floater per seminar
k) responsible for recruiting babysitters in order to have a minimum of 20 assistants on call at all times. Babysitters can be recruited via:
- senior citizens centers
- colleges that have a child development program
- churches
- junior high and high schools
- through Cayenne's volunteer director

Job Description:
a) with knowledge and care, to nurture the children during the eleven week and six week seminar classes;
b) to sanitize and clean the room before and after children utilize the room;
c) after each changing and/or assistance to the bathroom, to wash hands and any surface;
d) tidy room once children leave.
Qualifications: Must be at least 14 years of age; must have a social security card and ID card; must complete a babysitter training course at either the YMCA or Saint Joseph Hospital AND a new training/orientation class provided at the Wellness Center.

Job description: The primary duties inherent in the position are:
a) responsible for greeting all clients and vendors (must have a pleasant disposition);

c) responsible for answering all incoming calls and prompt/efficient routing of these calls;

Staff Accountant

Job description: The primary duties inherent in the position are:
- Accounts receivables: Create monthly invoices and post insurance billing for themental health facility, the nutritional seminars, and the adult nutritional retreats; keep track of various funding sources (grant funding, research funding) and disburse into proper accounts
- Accounts payables: Data entry of vendor invoices; matching vendor invoice with purchase order and packing slip(s); checking cost of goods on vendor invoices with price on purchase order; checking quantity on vendor invoice with purchase order and packing slip(s); preparing payables for payment prior to the 15th and 30th of each month
- Bank reconciliation: You are expected to reconcile to the penny, as well as in a timely manner. Shortly thereafter, you will provide various month end reports to the Program Director (profit and loss statements, detail trial balance, etc.). Keep track of the various programs, their bank accounts/funding and payable sources. Notify researchers of their balances and budget monthly/quarterly; notify President of the Center's budget and balances quarterly. Be proactive in finding ways to keep expenses down and increase revenue
- Payroll processing: Payroll will be processed every two weeks for staff employees. Gather time sheets from salaried employees, time cards from hourly employees and volunteers and any accompanying information (i.e, leave request). First, you will enter time into Excel; next, you must call in payroll to current payroll service; lastly, you must enter information into accounting program. Invoices from subcontractors will be paid with the payables (on the 15th and 30th of each month)
- Preparation of state, federal, and sales tax (if applicable). You will be expected to prepare the aforementioned taxes in a timely manner. The Program Director reviews tax preparations. Prepare reports for CPA at year end for income tax preparation and filing.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports to the President and quarterly reports to the Chairof the Board of Directors. You will be expected to provide reports in a timely manner. Reports will be reviewed for accuracy as well as for financial planning and forecasting.

Volunteer Director
- One part-time volunteer director
- Hours: 23 hours a week
- Salary - none. This is a volunteer position

Job description: The primary duties inherent in the position are:
a) will attend all multi-disciplinary meetings (2 hours);
b) position is for three years. Can serve multiple terms. Must give two (2) months notice to resign.
c) make sure all volunteer positions are filled in the following areas:
a) Reception Center (5 - 10 volunteers). The volunteers here will be responsible for:
- answering phones and directing calls
- doing mailings and stuffing brochures
- forwarding messages from info @ cayennewellness.org
- greeting guest. If a patient, offering them a beverage and announce to receptionist; if vendor, have them sign in and wait. Offer vendor a beverage and then announce to Office Manager. If not a patient or vendor, have them sign in, announce to the party they wish to see and offer them a beverage.
- driving (for the Three Day Cleansing Retreat in April and August).

b) Dorothy McDaniel Child Care Centre (numerous volunteers). The volunteers here will be responsible for:
